"Tokyo Love" is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki. Araki has published hundreds of photobooks, but when we look back at how many of them have "Tokyo" in the title, we find that they date back to his days as part of the Gueribara photocopying group, starting with "Tokyo" (1973), "Tokyo Elegy" (1984), "Tokyo, Autumn" (1989), "Tokyo Diary" (1989), "Tokyo Story" (1989), "Tokyo Nude" (1989), "Tokyo Lucky Hole" (1990), "Tokyo Weather" (1993), "Tokyo Cat Town" (1993), "Tokyo Love" (1994), "Tokyo Wind" (1995), "Tokyo Novel" (1995), "Tokyo Comedy" (1997), "Tokyo Love Affair" (1998), "Tokyo Kannon" (1998), and "Tokyo Affection" (1999). There are already this many from the 20th century alone, and if works published in the 21st century are included, the total may exceed 50. The theme of this work is "love." In love with the "city," in love with "women," in love with young women, in love with mature women... Through women of various ages, occupations, and lifestyles, Araki portrays the current state of Tokyo. Design by Suzuki Kazushi.
