"Minako" is a collaboration between Japanese photographer Shiro Tamiya and model, actress and artist Minako Mitsuhashi. Tamiya, who is a direct descendant of Nobuyoshi Araki, has been Araki's assistant for many years since the 1970s, but has also been in charge of photography for Araki (and Akira Suei)-related magazines, such as Self-Publishing and Byakuya Shobo. In the 2000s, Tamiya and Anzai Nobuhiko, who is also a direct descendant of Araki, founded "Aat Room". Most of the books published are Araki's photobooks, but this one was published as a collaboration between Tamiya and Minako Mitsuhashi, who was scouted by Araki and others and worked as a model and in films. Most of the book is portraits and nudes of Mitsuhashi photographed by Tamiya, but the text and illustrations by Mitsuhashi that are inserted are also wonderful, making it a book that is worth looking at and reading.
