"Shi Nikki (Private Diary)" is a collection of works by Nobuyoshi Araki, one of the most representative photographers of the 20th century. This is a collection of works published on the occasion of an exhibition held at the Bourse de Commerce, which houses the collection of contemporary art collector François Pinault from 2021 to 2022. The title "101 Works For Robert Frank" is a homage to Robert Frank, with whom Araki respected each other and deepened his friendship. These 101 images are from a period when a new image of Araki began to be created, after Araki lost his beloved wife Yoko, and the number of landscapes and still lifes increased, his interactions with Ciro increased, and his nudes began to change from the energetic ones of the 1980s to more quiet ones that show a little objectivity. All of the photos were taken between 1992 and 1993, and are compiled in chronological order with dates. It is also significant that the book was published by Delpire&Co, the imprint founded by Robert Delpire, who also worked on Robert Frank's debut novel, Les Americains.
