"Yoko My Love (Third Edition)" is a photobook by Nobuyoshi Araki, one of Japan's leading postwar photographers. It was part of the "Nobuyoshi Araki: Sentimental Journeys 1971-2017" exhibition held at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum in 2017. The subject of the photographs is undoubtedly his late wife, Yoko. This book is a collection of early works featuring Yoko, a muse who Araki himself said "turned me into a photographer." Masahisa Fukase also published a photobook featuring his first wife, Yoko, in the Sonorama series, titled "Yoko," and this "Yoko My Love" is equally stunning. Yoko herself reveals that she was drawn to Araki, who told her "their pensive expressions are beautiful." Before their marriage, Yoko gifted her a collection of Modigliani's art, and she commemorated the proposal with a collection of Hans Bellmer's art. This is a fascinating book, featuring Yoko herself. First edition.
