"Our Pocketkamera 1985" is a collection of works by leading Japanese photographer Seiichi Furuya. Since his wife Christine took her own life in October 1985, Furuya has continued to communicate with her through photography. This book is comprised of images printed from a stack of pocket camera film that Furuya came across by chance while cleaning out his attic. It is a memento discovered by a husband who had been pursuing his late wife for nearly 30 years (the excitement of finding such a thing is indescribable). Furuya gave Christine the camera as a gift in 1978. After a period of suspension, he resumed photography in 1985, continuing his photography until his death. Furuya continues his journey of reminiscing on those days while poring over his own notebook. This is a journey of forgotten memories of the final moments of his wife and child, by a husband who has long pursued his wife.
