A collection of works by Japanese photographer Shonosuke Shimada, "Ah God's Mischief: Six Gay Boys." Born in 1939, he graduated from the Department of Photography at Nihon University College of Art in 1961, and founded his own studio in 1971. He has held solo exhibitions at Nagase Salon in Ginza and Kodak. His father was Shiro Shimada, a Western-style painter. Shimada, the eldest son, said that he had been modeling for his father since he was an elementary school student, and that peeking at his father's canvases in between was one of the reasons he decided to become a photographer. This is a collection of images released in the 1990s, and is made up of portraits of "gay boys" that were also released at the Kodak Salon mentioned above. When we think of gay boys, many of them emphasize the physical beauty of men, but this collection of images emphasizes the beauty of women, and the beautiful works are captivating.
