"Private Views" is a collection of works by American female photographer Barbara Crane (1928-2019). Born in Chicago, Illinois, she studied under the master Aaron Siskind in 1964 and created images that abstracted the human body. Her works, which were created under various themes such as layering, sequence, and repetition, made Ansel Adams say to his assistant, "See, I told you photographers can do something different." After that, she also demonstrated her strength in collaboration with Polaroid, leaving behind many unique works with sequence images that make full use of their unique atmosphere and immediacy. She also taught at the Department of Photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for many years, and became a professor emeritus in 1995. She is an artist who has also devoted herself to guiding the next generation. This work is a collection of works composed of consecutive images taken at festivals using Polaroid film. It is a wonderful book that captures the dynamics and even the sense of happiness of people through detailed snippets of clothing, hairstyles, gestures, and more.
