"Shikawatari (Second Printing, Signed)" is a photobook by Japanese female photographer Chieko Shiraishi. Born in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Shiraishi has been working as a photographer since the 2000s. She has held exhibitions at galleries such as Koji Onaka's Gallery Kaido and Gallery Tosei by Toseisha, and in recent years has held a solo exhibition in Paris, France, making her an artist whose future success is highly anticipated. Her previously published photobooks include "Saboten to Shippo" (2008) and the masterpiece "Shimakage" (Island Shadow), published in 2015 and reprinted in 2020. This book is her third (however, a private edition of the same title was published in 2019 in a limited run of 100 copies). The setting is eastern Hokkaido in winter. Herds of Hokkaido deer run through the pure white snowscape, and Bewick's swans soar through the sky on the air currents of the cape. This is a lyrical record of everyday life, woven together by nature, animals, and the photographer. Published in 2021, second printing.
