"Girl (First Edition)" is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Yoshiyuki Okuyama. Born in Tokyo in 1991, Yoshiyuki Okuyama is one of the most dynamic young photographers today, and his photobooks "March", "Bacon Ice Cream", "The New Story" (all 2015), "As the Call, So the Echo" and "The City You Live In" (all 2017), "Los Angeles / San Francisco" and "Pocari Sweat" (all 2018) have all been very popular. This book is Okuyama's first book, published in 2012, and is his breakthrough work. The following is a comment from the photographer about this book: "Colors, sounds, smells, temperature. Peace and impatience. Dryness and sadness. Light and shadow. Floating hearts. Emotional fluctuations. A gentle melancholy that continues forever. A record of memories that you can remember but cannot see. I'm sure it was something like this." The film-like, fluctuating worldview, repeated images, and illustrations that are bright and dark, clear and sometimes hazy, depict a variety of emotions, overlapping with the multifaceted nature of young people living in the present day. A reprint was also published in 2019, but this is the first edition published in 2012.
