Rei (Signed) is a photo collection by Japan's leading photographer, Issei Suda (1940-2019). Born into a family that ran a pub in Kanda, Tokyo, Suda was absorbed in film and photography during his junior and senior high school years at Gyosei. After graduating from Tokyo College of Photography, he helped out at his family's building materials wholesaler, which had been newly established after the war. However, he happened to see an article in the newspaper looking for staff for the Tenjo Sajiki Tenjo Sajiki, a showroom run by Shuji Terayama, and applied. He then became a freelance photographer and has continued to work as a freelancer ever since. In the 1970s, he released "Fushikaden," one of the greatest masterpieces in photography history, which he captured while traveling around Japan, and in the late 1990s, he won the 16th Domon Ken Award for his collection of snapshots taken over the course of 30 years, "Ningen no Kioku." This book was his latest work, published in 2015, and contains images of female mannequins photographed through a shop window. Suda, who felt the eroticism in the details of the form, took thousands of photographs, and 57 carefully selected images are included in this book. Limited to 600 copies. Numbered edition. Signed by the photographer .
