Chinese on the Train is a collection of works by Wang Fuchun (1943–2021), a photographer from Heilongjiang Province, China. Wang, a former railway employee, is known as a master of people-watching on the railway, and has been photographing passengers' true faces for over 40 years, while at the same time recording the changes in Chinese society. This book is a compilation of his representative series over the years. The photographs were taken from the late 1970s to the 2000s, and feature the changing scenery inside the train and the expressions of people, from old-fashioned hard-seat cars to modern high-speed trains.
