"Kamaitachi (First Edition, Signed)" is a photo collection by leading Japanese photographer Eikoh Hosoe. Through collaborations with artists such as his first collaboration with Hijikata Tatsumi on his first book "Man and Woman" and "Ordeal by Roses" with writer Yukio Mishima, Eikoh Hosoe has pursued the issues of "life" and "sexuality" hidden deep within humans and has devoted himself to free and experimental photographic expression. His conceptual style and works incorporating Japanese elements are said to be one of the things that brought postwar Japanese photography to the world's attention. This book is a photo collection published in 1969, and has been reprinted since 2000, but this is the first edition and original, and is the second collaboration with dancer Tatsumi Hijikata. "Kamaitachi" is a legendary creature that harbors the spiritual energy of Tohoku. Hijikata plays the role of the legend and performs a vivid performance in the downtown area of Tokyo and the rural areas of Akita, expressing the ripples caused by encounters with people, the sensuality of the local climate, and the orgasms of life and death. This is one of Eikoh Hosoe's early representative works, depicting the intense aesthetic sense that resides within himself through his unique visual aesthetics. The first edition is limited to photogravure printing and a luxurious binding with all fold-out pages. A rare shipping box is also included. Signed by the photographer .
