Portraits From The Studio and The Street is a photobook by American photographer Ari Marcopoulos. Born in the Netherlands in 1957, he moved to New York in 1980. He is also known for having worked in Andy Warhol's studio and as a studio assistant to Irving Penn. He is still active in magazines and other media as a photographer who crosses the boundaries between fashion and street culture. This book is an expanded edition of Ari's first photobook, published in 1987 and now difficult to obtain, and was published in 2017. It features photographs of famous artists such as Warhol, Keith Haring, Jeff Koons, Roy Lichtenstein, Basquiat, and Dennis Hopper, as well as ordinary people.
