This photo collection, "Photography Everyday: Ichiro Tanaka Photo Collection 1935-1990," is by Japanese photographer Ichiro Tanaka. Born in Takayama, Gifu Prefecture, in 1914 (Taisho 3), Ichiro Tanaka attended a photography school and research institute in Tokyo and established his own studio after returning to high school. Under Ken Domon's vision of "discovering and nurturing new talent through modern photography courses based on his unique theory of realism, and establishing photography as a modern art form, both socially and culturally relevant," Tanaka was a regular contributor to the long-running "Domon Monthly" column in "Ars Camera" and "Photo Art" magazines, and consistently achieved top rankings alongside amateur photographer Kaoru Usui. Ichiro Tanaka's numerous works, including gentle and tender portraits and still lifes, are rooted in what Ken Domon calls "very deep affection." This is his second photo collection, published in 1991, following his first in 1978. This volume contains 161 pieces, ranging from works not included in the previous volume, from his time in Tokyo to illustrations from his later years. Limited to 1,000 copies.
