Public Secrets (Signed) is a collection of works by Lithuanian photographer Visvaldas Måkevicius (1990-). Based in Switzerland and Lithuania, Måkevicius expands the boundaries of photography, focusing on the intertwining of contemporary sensibilities: cities, nightlife, and technology. His perspective is characterized by minimalist compositions and the silent gaze of the subject, extracting fragments of "private truths" and "public narratives" that lie beneath the everyday shaped by pop culture and media. This book explores the gaps that emerge between place and action, participation and observation, against a geographical backdrop spanning urban nightlife, backstage spaces, and private spaces. These images, ranging from dignified human figures to architecture immersed in light and everyday details often overlooked, are transformed into "things that are visible yet hidden" under the title Public Secrets. Through photographs, this book quietly brings to light the situations created by the urban apparatus and the contours of the individuals who resist them, leaving the viewer with a sense of "I could have been there," and reaffirming the depth and potential of photography. Limited to 500 copies.
