Drop of Dreams is a photo collection by Japanese female artist Yoshiko Okanoue. While studying design at Bunka Gakuin University, she began creating collages through classes in "collage" and "collage-cutting," which garnered her the attention of art critic and Surrealist leader Shuzo Takiguchi. In the 1950s, she held two solo exhibitions at Takemiya Gallery in Kanda, Tokyo, and also exhibited in the "Abstract and Fantasy" exhibition curated by Takiguchi at the National Museum of Modern Art from 1953 to 1954. After her marriage, she withdrew from her creative practice, remaining an extremely prolific artist for only six years. However, she was rediscovered in a 1996 group exhibition and a 2000 exhibition curated by photography historian Ryuichi Kaneko, and her work is now housed in renowned museums both in Japan and abroad. This book was published in 2002 by Nazraeli Publishing in the United States in a limited edition of 1,500 copies. Shinya Ishiwata of Nazraeli visited the exhibition in 2000 and liked the works so much that he decided to publish it. Ryuichi Kaneko wrote a preface.
