Japanese photographer Yurie Nagashima has garnered acclaim both domestically and internationally, including last year's exhibition, "And a Pinch of Irony and a Little Bit of Love," at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum. While a student at Musashino Art University, she won the Parco Prize for nude self-portraits with her family at the "Urbanart #2" exhibition held at Parco in 1993. Her photobook, "PASTIME PARADISE" (2000), a compilation of photographs from her university days, won the Kimura Ihei Photography Award (along with other awards from HIROMIX and Mika Ninagawa). In recent years, she has also become a writer, winning the Kodansha Essay Award (2010) for her short story collection, "Memories of the Back." This book is her fourth photobook, published in 2004, and features photographs of her former husband (the title means "good-for-nothing"). This book is a compilation of daily snapshots taken over a seven-year period, documenting their transitions as lovers, husbands, and fathers, and includes short texts about their relationship. There are some corrections. The obi is missing. A postcard is included.
