"Fashion Eye Trans-Siberian" is a collection of works by Spanish photographer Coco Capitán (1992–). Born in Seville and based in London, Capitán is known for her expression that combines photography with text and drawings, and has attracted attention as a young artist who crosses the boundaries of fashion and contemporary art. Alongside her work in advertising and fashion magazines, she continues her practice of capturing everyday scenes, chance occurrences, and fragmented scenes encountered during travel. This book was produced as part of Louis Vuitton's publishing line "Fashion Eye" series, and is an attempt to reinterpret cities and regions of the world from the photographer's perspective, focusing on a journey on the Trans-Siberian Railway. Using the gap that arises between the imagination and the actual experience of the long train journey, and the sense of quiet time, as clues, she captures the scenery from the train window, fragments along the way, and the ambiguous flow of time inherent in the act of travel itself. This book presents a travelogue compiled from a subjective and poetic perspective, distinct from typical tourist travel photographs.
