"Paris (Signed)" is a photobook by Japanese photographer Tomio Seike. After graduating from a photography school in Japan, he worked as an assistant to Tadahiko Hayashi before moving to England. He was captivated by the authentic photographs and prints he saw in galleries and decided to compete on the international stage. He decided not to create works that used Japan as a motif, which is considered unconventional, but rather to create works that could compete on the same playing field as top international photographers with the same subjects. After returning to Japan, he worked in editorial while frequently traveling to England, but he was captivated by a foreign woman, Zoe Leonard, whom he met by chance at a Japanese model agency, and spent about five years creating works with her as the subject, which were published as the photobook "Zoe". This book is composed of illustrations of "Paris" that he took over three years from 1990. "Paris" is a captivating city that has charmed many renowned photographers, including Brassaï and Henri Cartier-Bresson. A collection of serene and poetic illustrations, depicting the banks of the Seine, rain-soaked cobblestones, and standing trees, all rendered with exceptional skill in the interplay of light and shadow. Signed by the photographer .
