"All Images of an Anonymous Person" is a collaborative work by Swedish artist Miriam Beckström (1967) and German contemporary artist Carsten Heller (1961). Created in 2005 for the "Sharing Space Dividing Time" exhibition at the 51st Venice Biennale's Nordic Pavilion, this book contains 3,147 private photographs of an anonymous woman taken over 24 years. From childhood to adulthood, these vast collection of snapshots—from family and friends, travels, and casual moments indoors—preserved in her personal albums, are presented across approximately 500 pages without explanation or captions. Beckström, who has explored reality and fiction, memory and identity, and Heller, with his scientific background and known for experimental works that challenge human perception and psychology, collaborate on this project. Can we truly "know" a person by seeing so many photographs of them? Or, no matter how many photographs we accumulate, can we ever truly reach the essence of humanity? By meticulously compiling personal records, this is an extremely conceptual book that quietly re-examines the relationship between photography, memory, self-image, and anonymity.
