"Tantan to (With OBI)" is a collection of works by Masashi Sanai, one of Japan's leading photographers. Sanai, who began seriously pursuing photography in the early 1990s, is an unconventional photographer who honed his own style through self-study. Though fundamentally different, his approach to capturing seemingly ordinary landscapes, along with his deep insight into his subjects, is reminiscent of the highly popular Yoshiko Seino, and together with Takashi Homma and Mikiko Hara, who rose to prominence around the same time, he attracted considerable attention as a new generation of photographers who would shape the 21st century. As expected, their popularity and activities continue to this day, and this book, published in 1999, is their fourth work. It is a personal and slightly poetic book featuring still lifes, landscapes, portraits, and occasional nudes, accompanied by unique texts and Sanai's characteristic light touch. Nobuyoshi Araki and Hiromix also appear. With obi (paper band).
