"Good Night (Signed)" is a collection of works by Feng Li (1971-), a photographer based in Chengdu, China. While working as a photographer for the Sichuan provincial government, he intuitively captures the strangeness, absurdity, and unease lurking in everyday life on the streets, and his representative work "White Night," published in 2017, attracted international attention. This book can be considered a quasi-sequel to that, and while "White Night" was composed of vivid color photographs, this book contains 187 monochrome works taken on the streets of Chengdu. In fact, these photographs were not started later; many of them existed when Jiazazhi Press produced "White Night" in 2017, and Feng Li himself considers them to be the "starting point." He perceives these not as black and white photographs in the traditional sense, but as "monochrome," treating black as one of the colors. His unique perspective, which transforms ordinary people and scenes into inexplicable events or scenes from a play in an instant, remains intact. Illuminating the world that began with "White Night" from a different perspective, this book marks the end of an era, a farewell to the good old times, as the author himself describes it.
