"My Love, Yoko (Second Edition)" is a photobook by Nobuyoshi Araki, one of Japan's leading post-war photographers. It was part of the "Nobuyoshi Araki: A Sentimental Journey 1971-2017" exhibition held at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum in 2017. The subject is undoubtedly his late wife, Yoko. This book is an early collection of works with his muse, whom he himself said "made him a photographer." Masahisa Fukase also published a photobook of his first wife, Yoko, titled "Yohko," from the same Sonorama series, and "My Love, Yoko" is equally wonderful. The book also includes fascinating anecdotes from Yoko herself, such as how she was drawn to Araki because he said she liked her "thoughtful expression," how he gave her a Modigliani art book as a gift before their marriage, and how the proposal was celebrated with a Hans Bellmer art book. Second edition.
