"Osaka + Osaka Plus" is a photo collection by Daido Moriyama (1938-), one of Japan's leading photographers. He started working as an assistant to a commercial designer in Osaka in the mid-1950s. Moriyama turned to photography and joined Takeji Iwamiya's studio, then moved to Tokyo and became an assistant to Eikoh Hosoe. He became active as a photographer in the late 1960s, met Takuma Nakahira and joined "Provoke", and from the 1970s onwards, he left behind masterpieces such as "Hunter" and "Goodbye Photography". This book is a pocket-sized version of the photo collection "Daido Hysteric No.8" published by Hysteric Glamour in 1997, which has been expanded and completely re-edited, with a 40mm stack. The following is from the obi: "Just before I turned 20, my daily life was in Osaka. When I think back to that time, and to myself, it almost appears as a fantasy. Back then, the needle of my heart continued to point toward Tokyo. Now, the needle of my heart has once again turned full circle, returning to the streets of Osaka. Perhaps this is the nostalgia I feel for having been born in Osaka. However, the Osaka streetlights reflected through the lens are still as tough as ever, cutting through my nostalgia with ease." Signed by the photographer .
