"Mitsu" is a photobook by Japanese photographer Michihiko Tani. Born in Kagawa Prefecture in 1933, Michihiko Tani has based his life in Okayama, publishing his work in magazines such as Asahi Camera and Camera Mainichi, and holding solo exhibitions at salons such as Nikon and Konica Minolta since the 1990s. Since 2000, he has left his activities in Tokyo and is working in his hometown of Okayama with fellow amateur photographer Takato Yamagami, who has published works such as "Time Outside the Clock / A Timeless Life (1994)". Although he has published many photobooks to date, such as "The Wind of Otafu" and "My Town Tamano", most of them have not been commercially sold, making the remaining collections of his work extremely valuable. This book consists of illustrations taken in Mitsu, in the northern part of Okayama City, between 1998 and 1999. These images convey the pure soul of a photographer who, instead of focusing on so-called beautiful landscapes or events, relentlessly sought beauty in simple, ordinary everyday life, continuously refining his own mind.
