A collection of works by Japanese photographer Toshio Enomoto, "Far East". Born in Tokyo in 1947, after graduating from Tokyo Zokei University, he worked at the prestigious Japan Design Center, an advertising production company, before going freelance. He originally wanted to be a graphic designer, but was inspired by Tomatsu Shomei's masterpiece "11:02: Nagasaki" and changed his path to photography, and at university he studied under Yasuhiro Ishimoto and Yutaka Takanashi. This book is composed of illustrations taken during a trip from Istanbul to Pakistan, India, Nepal, and the Silk Road in 1972. Enomoto left the design center and set out on a journey. "I suddenly realized that my journey from the far west to the far east was a journey in search of my inner Asia, living in a Japan that was becoming Westernized" (from this book). Limited to 500 copies.
