"Alice (First Edition, Fifth Printing, With OBI)" is a photo collection by Japanese photographer Hajime Sawada. After graduating from the Department of Photography at Nihon University College of Art, he worked as an assistant to Yutaka Takanashi before becoming a freelancer. Since then, he has been active as a fashion photographer for numerous famous magazines, and in the 1970s he made a name for himself with innocent, beautiful, and sometimes fantastical portraits of girls and women such as "The Dollhouse in the Forest," "Nadia," and "The Girl Who Came from the Sea." Since the 1980s, he has continued to be active on the front lines, mainly with works of artists and idols. This book is his memorable first photo collection. Created with Alice in Wonderland as the motif, the collection features 10-year-old Samantha, who was selected as the model in an audition held in England, Alice's homeland, and all the shooting took place in England. The project boasts a stellar cast, with planning and editing by Shigeo Kuwahara, book design by Seiichi Horiuchi, foreword by Shuzo Takiguchi, and poetry by Shuntaro Tanikawa. In recent years, a special edition containing previously unpublished works has also been released. 1976, 5th printing. Comes with obi.
