"Des Oiseaux (First Edition)" is a photo book by Finnish photographer Pentti Samaratti. He is a landscape photographer who is very popular in Japan. He was engaged in photography education at the University of Art and Design Helsinki, the largest art university in the Nordic countries, and in the early 1990s, when he was over 40 years old, he was awarded a grant for 15 years, which prompted him to dedicate himself to the path of photography. Since then, he has traveled around the world, including Finland, Scandinavia, the UK, Japan, and China, taking photos and winning numerous awards both in Japan and abroad. This book is the Samaratti version of the "Des Oiseaux" series, a collection of works with the motif of "birds," published in a series by the French publisher Editions Xavier Barral. The second edition was published in 2020, but this is the first edition published in 2018.
