Polaroids is a photo book by Walker Evans, one of the most important figures in American documentary photography. He has published classic photo books such as American photographs, Let us now praise famous men, Many are called, and Message from the interior, as well as magazines such as Time and Fortune. There are countless photographers who admired Evans, including Lee Friedlander, Diane Arbus, and Luigi Ghiri of Italy. Whatever he photographs, whether it be architecture, interiors, landscapes, streets, still lifes, or portraits, they are unwavering and beautiful. This book was published in 2002 by the legendary Swiss publisher Scalo. After turning 70 and suffering from illness and complete weakness, Evans purchased the Polaroid camera SX-70 released in 1972 as a toy and took over 2,500 instant photos as a challenge to himself. This book is composed of carefully selected images from over 2,500 instant photos. The texture unique to Polaroid is also beautiful. A valuable collection of Evans' works from his later years.
