"1980s Remnants" is a collection of works by Daido Moriyama, a world-renowned photographer representing postwar Japan. His debut work "Nippon Theater Photo Album" from the 1960s, the timeless masterpiece "Goodbye Photography" from the 1970s, and "Light and Shadow" from the early 1980s, which he created after overcoming a temporary slump. Since this early trilogy of masterpieces, Sokyusha has published several works in the 1980s. One is "Moriyama Daido 1970-1979", which selects works from the 1970s, and the other is "Journey to Nakaji", a homage to his beloved Nakaji Yasui. At the time, Michitaka Ota asked Akira Hasegawa and others to edit his photos, but later he began editing them himself, and the prints he received from Moriyama in the 1980s that were not included in the works mentioned above were given a new form and compiled into the work "Remnants".
