"Osaka Plus" is a photo book by Daido Moriyama (1938-), one of Japan's leading photographers. He started working as an assistant to a commercial designer in Osaka in the mid-1950s. Moriyama turned to photography and joined Takeji Iwamiya's studio, then moved to Tokyo and became an assistant to Eikoh Hosoe. He became active as a photographer in the late 1960s, met Takuma Nakahira and joined "Provoke", and from the 1970s onwards, he left behind masterpieces such as "Hunter" and "Goodbye Photography". This book is a pocket-sized version of the photo book "Daido Hysteric No.8" published by Hysteric Glamour in 1997, which has been expanded and completely re-edited, with a 40mm stack. The following is from the obi: "Just before I turned 20, my daily life was Osaka. When I think back now to that time in Osaka and to the person I was at that time, it almost appears as a fantasy. Back then, the needle of my heart continued to point straight towards Tokyo. Now, the needle of my heart has once again made a full circle, returning to the streets of Osaka. Perhaps it is the nostalgia I feel for having been born in Osaka. However, the Osaka streets reflected through the lens are still as tough as ever, cutting through my nostalgia with ease."
