This book is a guidebook for lectures and instruction on Ikebana in general, published in the 1950s, shortly after the war, entitled "Today's Ikebana". It introduces its aesthetics, history, examples of works, materials, techniques, as well as vases and shapes, with a variety of images interwoven. Examples of artists include works by Teshigahara Sofu, the founder of the Sogetsu Ikebana school, as well as Adachi Choka, a pioneer in the modernization of Ikebana; Ohara Houn, the third head of the Ohara Ikebana school; Nishizaka Senkei, the 15th head of the Iemoto Senkei school; and Nakayama Bunpo, the head of the Mishoryu school (some parts in color).
