"Capturing Moments of Joy" is a photo collection by the great amateur photographer Jacques-Henri Lartigue of France. Born in 1894 into a wealthy family, Lartigue kept a photo diary from an early age, taking pictures of the daily lives and leisure scenes of his family and friends. Although photography was merely a hobby for Lartigue, he was discovered as a new photographer in New York during a trip to the United States in 1962, and the following year he held an exhibition at MoMA. Lartigue was 69 years old at the time. In 1966, he visited New York again at the invitation of Hiro, who was an assistant to Richard Avedon, and published "Family Album" with Avedon's cooperation. This photo collection made Lartigue's name known worldwide. This book is a catalog of works published on the occasion of an exhibition held at the Fukushima Prefectural Museum of Art in the summer of 2017. This book is filled with the charm of Lartigue, who continued to enjoy photography purely and innocently throughout his life, and is also packed with color illustrations.
