"White" is a collection of works by Suzuki Risaku, one of Japan's leading photographers. Born in Wakayama Prefecture in 1963, while studying at Tokyo College of Photography, he exhibited his work at the group exhibition "15 Contemporary Photographic Expressions" organized by Kaneko Ryuichi and Otsuji Seiji at Tsukuba University and other institutions. Since the 1990s, he has held solo exhibitions, and made his mark with "Kumano" and "Piles of Time," which won the Kimura Ihei Photography Award. Although his works are mainly of "landscapes" captured with a large-format camera, he is a rare photographer who continues to pursue the possibilities of the act of photography, not only of the subject of "what is being photographed," but also of "what is the experience of looking at what is being photographed." This book is "white," which was shot in the snowy mountains of Hokkaido and Aomori. Suzuki's thoughts and aesthetic sense, which capture things that are difficult to turn into "pictures" in the four-dimensional world and depict "something" that goes beyond so-called beautiful landscape photography, are second to none, making this a collection of works that are so beautiful and evocative that it can be said that no one can match him. Limited to 1,000 copies. (Peeling marks on the case)
